THE BACKING OF A PROVEN SPORTING PEDIGREE

WearOptimo is proud to count Mark Webber as both an investor and a strategic partner.

The Formula 1 champion and endurance athlete came on board after meeting WearOptimo founder and CEO Professor Mark Kendall through a mutual association with luxury watch brand Rolex.

So great was his confidence in our Microwearable technology he decided not only to invest his own money, but also is actively working with WearOptimo as a strategic partner.

As Kendall explained, there’s great potency to the strategic relationship given Webber’s own background in elite sport and WearOptimo’s first product, hydration Microwearable sensors, currently in clinical trials at QUT, and targeting settings including elite sport.

“Mark Webber has deep insight into that space on the world stage and is already providing us with advice and guidance,” Kendall said.

“He brings hard-won expertise on the world stage, competing at the highest level, and in elite sports.

“That knowledge base is so powerful.”

For his part, Webber pointed to an enthusiasm for the Aussie spirit in taking on challenges that – on paper – may seem huge, but which offer huge opportunities on a global stage.

“The range of health applications for this product is huge,” he said.

This further aligned to a drawcard of shared values.

“One other thing that really resonates for me in Mark Webber’s journey is that it showcases the importance of high-performing teams and having the right people around you,” explained Kendall.

“We have a high-performing team at WearOptimo across all facets of the business, and it’s something, like Mark Webber, that we don’t take for granted.

“So there’s a strong resonance of values there as well and we’re thrilled to have him on board as an investor and strategic partner.”
